Skin Pigmentation

Melanin is a natural pigment that gives skin its particular colour. In some skin conditions the body can produce too much melanin resulting in skin which can appear darker in places.

The excess pigmentation can give rise to ;

  • Melasma
  • Freckles
  • Sunspots
  • PIH ( Post Inflammatory Hyper-pigmentation)

PIH can occur as a result of trauma to the skin eg. acne, sun damage, scratching caused by eczema and dermatitis.

Skin Pigmentation – Skin Revival Recommends

At Skin Revival, we always recommend daily use of a broad spectrum sunscreen with a SPF of at least 25. The appearance of hyper-pigmentation marks can be improved using a combination of techniques.

Sessions of Diamond Microdermabrasion, occasionally Glycolic Peels, Medical Skin Needling/Dermaroller finished with our exclusive LED Phototherapy (Dermalux) can create a much more even skin tone, and leave the skin smoother and firmer.

Skin Revival offer a special anti-pigmentation skin care package, click here to view our packages.
