Dermal Fillers FAQs

What is Restylane?

Restlyane is a range of products for facial aesthetic treatments. They are designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and create volume in areas of the face such as the cheeks, chin and lips, and to revitalise the skin.

What does the Restylane treatment involve?

Treatments are usually quick and simple. It normally takes around 15-20 minutes and the Restylane products are injected into various skin layers using either a fine needle. The filler products contain the anaesthetic lidocaine, offering pain relief and a more comfortable experience

Restylane products are biodegradable and will naturally disappear in the body after time. Further treatments are recommended 6 – 12 months after your initial treatment.

What happens after the treatment?

Some patients may experience some swelling, itching, bruising, tenderness and even pain. These reactions are mild to moderate and usually disappear after a few days. At Skin Revival we also recommend a session under the Dermalux Phototherapy machine which is excellent at reducing redness post treatment. Mineral makeup can be applied immediately after.

How long does a Restylane treatment last?

This depends on many factors including the patients skin type, skin condition, age and lifestlye. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are recommended every 6 – 12 months. A lip enhancement treatment usually lasts about 6 months.

Who is qualified to administer Restylane?

Restylane should only be administered by a medically qualified health professional.

Do I need to take a skin test before using Restylane?

No. Restylane is not made using animal products so no skin test is necessary.
